Notable activities:
- The League published their first edition of Who’s Who in the League of Canadian Poets in 1977, a book cataloguing their members, gaining the organisation public recognition and a reputation as an advocate for poets.
- The Feminist Caucus committee was created in 1982 to mend the gap between male and female representation of League members.
- The 1986 establishment of the Public Lending Right was supported by the League, which also promotes the reform of copyright laws.
- During the pandemic in 2020, with the help of The Writers’ Union of Canada, the League established a yearly joint conference called BIPOC Writers Connect to support marginalized authors and promote their works.
