- Brick was founded in 1977 in London, Ontario.
- It was taken over by Linda Spalding and Michael Ondaatje in 1985.

- It is one of Canada’s most well-respected literary journals.
- The masthead frequently communicates with contributors, other magazines, and “Bricksellers”.
